I've heard power washing can get water underneath vinyl siding.Vinyl siding-power wash or hand wash?
My son inlaw washes his with the powerwasher. He stands on the ladder and washes with the sprayer pointing downwards so that the spay is not going up in between the joins. It does a good job. It would be a big job to hand wash.

Can power washing or pressure washing a deck cause a muscle ache? I have a sharp pain near the left shoulder blade and a dull ache in my left triceps. What do I need to protect when power washing my engine/s?
I have a '04 Gr. Caravan, 95 Caravan SE and a '90 Honda Accord which I want to power wash the engines. The Accord used to have an old battery whose positive terminal corroded and when I brushed it with hot water, the corrosion splattered on the engine and now looks like rust spots and which I want to power wash. OK FIRST THING DO NOT POWER WASH YOUR MOTOR, if you want to do so use a low pressure hose. if you use high pressure u might damage connectors by getting moisture in them or damage a sensor you can get engine degreaser from any parts store if your wanting to clean them What do I need to protect when power washing my engine/s?

ask for particulars, hourly wage, machine rental fee or user fee...v.s. say a one job price quote. my guess is depending on the size of the job it could cost you using contracted workers anywhere from 300 to 600 dollars best to rent a power washer and do the job your self, and save money...

I empathize and can relate. I never cease to be dumbfounded by anyone painting over NATURAL, and I paint nearly every day of my life, and hold with The Customer is Always Right,,,sigh.
Brick is porous and has voids even in the best Firings.
I suggest, although probably pricey, look into companies that do sand blasting.
Chemicals that will do the job, even under pressure will be adding toxins to an unstable planet. Water, even at 3500 PSI will probably not remove every trace, and may damage the brick and mortar.
On a modestly sarcatic note, your Q caused me to recall an OLD episode or ARCHIE BUNKER.
His home was Brick, and he was cajoled by a siding salesman with a photo light meter, that he needed siding, OVER the brick.

If you find a wire brush too tedious, You might use a disc-shaped wire brush attachment that fits into your electric drill.
I'm hearing you can't get it off. What I would do is paint over it with some kind of impervious paint that wouldn't run.

spray with Easy Off oven cleaner... let it soak in a bit... then use a wire brush or a wire attachment on a hand held grinder...it worked for me

Would you consider planting some climbing vines? This would simply hide your problem %26amp; it may take a few years for the vines to grow %26amp; creep, but it will add beauty while being fairly inexpensive.

No books that I'm aware of so call around other people offering the same service in your area and get the prices *they* charge and modify yours accordingly.
