Is there a drainage power wash ?

A plumber just advised me to have a service called power wash at least once every three years. It supposes to clean all the drains and pipes connecting to city sewage system to avoid any clogging. I have never heard anything like that before so I am trying to do some researches first.





Please give me some information If any of you understanding something about it.

ridgid makes a special gas powered pressure wash deal with a special head that helps force the hose through a main drain we use it for restaurants to clear grease out of the drain lines its a ok system but i dont really push it that much for residential drain systems.........Is there a drainage power wash ?
Have you had any issues with your drains? The only reason I would think a home drain system would need it is if the pipes are not to proper grade. If the underground pipes are flat or have bellies slowing the flow, they may need flushed to avoid build up and blockage.

i look at ebay and amazon and the same machine is around $850 to $899(on sale).

Karcher is a good name in pumps and sounds like the deal you're getting is not bad, but I agree with Warpig, make sure that the motor is Honda.


They run smoother, quieter and longer than any others, good luck!

Should i use a power washer to wash my dirt bike?

The problem with a high power stream of water (power washer, coin operated car washes) is the high pressure in certain areas.


Around the wheel hubs, you can blow the grease out of the wheel bearings, accelerating corrosion. Same with steering neck area, and swing arm pivot area.


Electrical items can have contact corrosion accelerated.


Water could get into engine (through carb, seep through bad gaskets, etc).

yes its fine as long as you are not close to the graphics/stickers dont concentrate on 1 area for more than 2-3secs. if you back up about 3 steps when you get to the graphics you will be fine. i race atvs and i use our pressure washer a lot. i used it anytime my bike gets dirty. we have a coleman professional series pressure washer 4,000psi its a bit much but we use it a lot on trucks,houses,sidewalks,and lawn equiment. when you clean your bike make sure your air box is sealed and you have something in your pipe.Should i use a power washer to wash my dirt bike?
It's not the best idea, but after a mud race sometimes that is the only way. Don't spray near the airbox, swing arm bearings, wheel bearings, etc. Just use common sense.
I have never owned a dirt bike..but my road bike would get quite dirty..I just used a BUCKET of Water..and threw it at the bike..then a spray of silicone...after a while..nothing sticks..

yes but make sure you dry off every little piece so it doesn't rust. Also, make sure you lube up the chain cuz if it rusts you will have to buy a new one.
It can possibly force water behind the seals of your wheel bearings and the o-rings on your chain.
it wont hurt,when ur done pull the plug cap and blow the water out of it so it wont start hard.
course...just keep away from any uninsulated electronics...

You need to be careful and test the powerwasher's tip before you use it on the deck.Try it on a piece of wood or something.You want to use a wider spray tip not a fine point tip this kind of tip can actualy cause damage and cut or make a gouge in the deck.

The radiator blew out and got coolant all over my engine and the underside of my hood and i wanted to power wash it off before it baked on there, ive heard that some people have done this to their 302s and get blue smoke that comes off the engine and out the exhaust. that's some dumb bullshit. if the engine is in fine condition you can power wash it. i did it to my 86 crown vic last week and it still runs with no prob. just try to avoid electrical n painted stuff, and don't use high pressure.
Not a problem. Just be careful of the distributor cap. If you do get water inside you will need to dry it out in order to start the car. You will know if you got water in it when it doesn't start.
depends on how much pressure you use, some powerwashers will the the paint and rip all your hoses off of your engine, also when washing your engine you want to keep it running, because the spark plugs will get water in them and if it doenst dry out by the heat of the engine running then the car wont start and you will have to take the spark plugs out and wipe them down or even replace them...

I believe that the best way of going about it would be to go to your local government office and apply for a business license (people are more willing to do business with people who are licensed). Then little bulletin board advertisements posted in public areas would be good to get you started. the right equipment is essential also. you may want to go with a small power washer with 1500psi pressure and adjustable spray nozzle to start. and hey, as you move up to a bigger budget, you could purchase a nice trailor mount pressure washer with its own built on tank for truly portable operation.
Make flyers to put in gas stations, buy a fairly nice power washer and decal the vehicle you drive to do jobs.

You can buy your own for $200.00, and use it to wash the car.....
Many larger hardware stores rent equipment. (Ace here does) Home depot has rentals also. Check for equipment rental places in your phone book.

Check the model # plate or what ever on the back. It (by law) will show the wattage rating for the unit. The only thing drawing current is the motor, so it's not like a cloths dryer that draws both motor current and heat element current. 600 watts is not much of an inverter though, unless all you want to use it for is some lights or maybe a small radio.

I wouldn't charge more than 15% more than it would cost the homeowner to rent the machine and do it themselves, if that's the only service you will be doing.

You're right. You power washed too much. Sanding is the best way to get rid of your ';fuzzies';. You can rent a walk behind sander at any equipment rental store. Do not get the round drum type!!!! They'll leave dips in your deck. For a nice flat finished surface, get the flat vibrater type sander. The large floor type. Good luck. Make sure your deck is completely dry before you start.
yep you over did it with the washer. in the future turn down the pressure and alternat a stiff brush with soap and then some pressure to rinse. I would rent a floor sander to fix it up, but whatever you decide to do the clock is ticking and you need to get some sealer on there soon because the wood is raw and vulnerable to decay now.
Sand the entire deck, coat it with finish and enjoy.
Yep, everyone is giving good advice. I prefer a finish that has Carnauba wax in it. Pentathane is another finish you can use that has good UV protection and comes in stain shades as well as clear.

We cleaned our deck like this : Poured alot of water a bleach and used a old broom and swiped out. It came out nice and clean. I should said lite gray almost white. Then we paint some Thomeson Deck Gloss on it and it looked good as new. Good-Luck !
